Evenings spent relaxing in the lounge area after a sumptuous meal, a great time to catch up with the group and reminisce on the days spent.
Itinerary Overview: Day 1 – Departure
We will gather at the airport in the early afternoon to begin our journey with a scheduled flight to Zurich, scheduled to depart at 14:20hrs. Upon arrival in Zurich a private transfer will take us to our hotel in Villingen-Schwenningen. After checking in into our hotel, we can settle into our rooms and rest for the upcoming days.
Itinerary Overview: Day 2 – Basel
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out. Later, we transfer to the VIVA Cruise berth, where we embark on the VIVA TIARA river cruise. Upon arrival at the port, we complete check-in and are assigned our cabins. The remainder of the day is at leisure, with time to relax and enjoy the ship’s facilities or explore the city of Basel. In the evening, we set sail towards our first destination, Strasbourg, while enjoying dinner on board.
Itinerary Overview: Day 3 – Strasbourg
After enjoying breakfast on board, we disembark to spend the day exploring Strasbourg. Time is allocated to discover the historic city centre, including the UNESCO-listed Grande Île, with its narrow streets, canals, and well-preserved medieval buildings. Highlights can include a walk through the picturesque Petite France district, views of the impressive Strasbourg Cathedral, and free time to explore local shops or enjoy the atmosphere of the city at your own pace. Lunch and dinner are served on board the ship. At 16:30hrs, the cruise departs for the next destination, allowing time to relax on board and enjoy the passing scenery along the river.
Itinerary Overview: Day 4 – Frankfurt
After breakfast, enjoy time at leisure on board and make use of the cruise’s amenities as we continue sailing along the river. The ship berths in Frankfurt at approximately 12:00hrs, followed by lunch served on board.
In the afternoon, we disembark for an excursion to Frankfurt, where we explore the city’s contrasting skyline and historic centre. Highlights include a walk through the Römerberg square with its traditional half-timbered houses, views of the Römer Town Hall, and time to see the exterior of Frankfurt Cathedral.
At 18:00hrs, we depart Frankfurt and continue cruising towards Speyer. Dinner is served onboard as we relax and enjoy the changing river scenery.
Itinerary Overview: Day 5 – Speyer
The cruise arrives in Speyer in the morning, allowing you to enjoy breakfast on board while taking in views of the city from the river. After breakfast, we disembark to explore Speyer during the morning. The excursion includes time in the historic old town, with highlights such as the exterior visit of the UNESCO-listed Speyer Cathedral, one of the largest Romanesque churches in Europe, as well as a walk through the main square and surrounding pedestrian streets.
Lunch is served on board after returning to the ship. At 14:30hrs, the cruise departs for the next destination. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the ship’s amenities, followed by dinner on board and time to relax with a drink at the bar while cruising along the river.
Itinerary Overview: Day 6 – Breisach
Enjoy breakfast on board as the cruise continues sailing towards Breisach, with time to relax and make use of the ship’s amenities while taking in the river scenery. Upon arrival in Breisach, we disembark to explore this charming town located at the gateway to the Black Forest and overlooking the Rhine Valley.
The excursion includes time to walk through the historic centre and visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral (exterior), situated on the Münsterberg hill and offering panoramic views over the surrounding vineyards and the Rhine River.
Lunch and dinner are served on board the ship. The cruise departs for its final destination at 20:30hrs, allowing ample time ashore before returning to the vessel.
Itinerary Overview: Day 7 – Basel
After breakfast, we disembark the cruise in Basel and continue by coach towards the Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest waterfall and one of Switzerland’s most impressive natural landmarks. It is located near Schaffhausen, with powerful waters flowing year-round. During our visit, there will be time to walk along the platforms and pathways, offering different perspectives of the cascading water and surrounding landscape.
In the afternoon, we proceed by coach to Zurich Airport, where we check in for our return flight to Malta, scheduled to depart at 18:15hrs.

- The VIVA TIARA is one of the latest renovated vessels to join the new build of VIVA Cruises and invites with 76 cabins up to 152 passengers to feel-good moments on board. The cruise is all inclusive and includes the following:
