Itinerary Overview: Day 1 – Arrival & Bucharest Highlights
We will meet our tour leader at Malta International Airport at 07:15 hrs for our charter flight to Bucharest, scheduled to depart at 09:20 hrs. Upon arrival in Bucharest, we will board our private coach and transfer to the hotel for check-in. After some time to settle in, we will gather for a guided sightseeing tour of Bucharest, discovering the city’s main highlights and landmarks.
Enjoy a guided tour exploring the beauty and history of Romania’s vibrant capital. Begin by admiring the Parliament Palace, one of the largest administrative buildings in the world, and continue to the Romanian Patriarchal Cathedral, dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helen.
The tour then takes you through the charming Old City – Lipscani District, once the bustling heart of Bucharest’s trade and craftsmanship.
To complete the experience, enjoy a stop at the Christmas Market in Constitution Square, where you can soak in the festive atmosphere, local delicacies, crafts, and sparkling decorations celebrating the holiday season.
Itinerary Overview: Day 2 – Bucharest Highlights
After breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the impressive Palace of Parliament, one of the most iconic and controversial landmarks in Romania. Built during the communist era under Nicolae Ceaușescu, the Palace of Parliament was conceived as a symbol of the power of the regime and as a central location for the country’s main state institutions. Construction began in 1984 and involved more than 100,000 people, including thousands of workers and soldiers.
We will then have the opportunity to visit Ceaușescu’s former residence, where we can discover the private world of Romania’s former dictator and his wife, Elena. The beautifully preserved villa features lavish rooms, original furnishings and personal belongings, offering a fascinating insight into life during the communist era.
Our day continues with a visit to the Village Museum, beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Herăstrău in the heart of Bucharest.
This open-air museum brings together traditional houses, churches, mills and other buildings from different regions of Romania, dating from the 17th century to the early 20th century.
Itinerary Overview: Day 3 – Royal Retreats of the Carpathians
After breakfast, we set off on a full-day excursion to Sinaia, one of Romania’s most picturesque mountain destinations, nestled in the spectacular Carpathian Mountains.
Our main highlight will be a visit to the magnificent Peleș Castle (Castelul Peleș), one of Romania’s most famous and beautiful landmarks. Built between 1873 and 1914, the castle is a stunning example of Neo-Renaissance architecture and was originally commissioned as the summer residence of Romania’s first King, Carol I.
Located along the historic route linking Transylvania and Wallachia, Peleș Castle is surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Carpathian Mountains. During our visit, we will have the opportunity to admire its impressive architecture, richly decorated interiors and beautiful surroundings.
We will also enjoy time in Sinaia, known as the “Pearl of the Carpathians”, where we can take in the charming mountain atmosphere and explore the town at leisure.
Itinerary Overview: Day 4 – Snagov & Museum of Senses
After breakfast, we head north of Bucharest to the peaceful surroundings of Snagov, a beautiful destination known for its scenic landscapes, tranquil atmosphere and picturesque lake.
Our visit will take us to Snagov Lake, surrounded by forests and offering a relaxing escape from the city. We will also visit the historic Snagov Monastery, beautifully situated on an island in the middle of the lake. Dating back to the medieval period, the monastery is renowned for its impressive architecture and is traditionally associated with Vlad the Impaler, who is believed to have been buried here. Discover the fascinating history and legends surrounding this remarkable site.
We then return to Bucharest for a visit to the Museum of Senses, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary! Step into a world of imagination and discovery as we explore captivating installations and interactive experiences designed to challenge our senses and perception.
After the visits, we will return to the hotel to rest and prepare for the New Year’s Eve celebration, ensuring everyone is refreshed and ready to welcome the new year in style.
Itinerary Overview: Day 5 – Relaxation & Fun at Therme Bucharest
Happy New Year! After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day of relaxation and entertainment at Therme Bucharest, the largest wellness and spa complex in Europe. Whether you are looking to unwind after the New Year celebrations or enjoy a day of family fun, Therme offers something for everyone. The complex features A family-friendly zone and two adult-only areas.
Spend the day enjoying wellness, fun, and relaxation with your loved ones, taking advantage of one of Europe’s premier leisure destinations.
Itinerary Overview: Day 6 – Departure
After breakfast at the hotel and check-out, the day is yours to enjoy at a relaxed pace. Take a leisurely stroll through Bucharest’s beautiful parks, soaking in the serene atmosphere, historic monuments, and winter scenery. Alternatively, explore the city’s shopping centers, where you can find everything from local crafts and souvenirs to international brands—perfect for picking up last-minute gifts or treats.
Use this final day to wander, shop, and enjoy the charm of Bucharest at your own pace, making the most of your remaining hours in the capital.
Later, transfer to Bucharest Airport for your return flight scheduled to depart at 20:00hrs, marking the end of your memorable Romanian adventure, filled with culture, history, relaxation, and festive celebrations.
