Itinerary Overview: Day 1 – Arrival

We will meet at Malta International Airport at 14.00hrs for our flight to Treviso, scheduled to depart at 16:10hrs. Upon our arrival, we will travel to our hotel which is located in the charming city of Treviso. After checking in, we will have the chance to unwind and get comfortable in our accommodation. The evening will be spent enjoying a delightful dinner at the hotel savouring a taste of the region’s cuisine, followed by a relaxing overnight stay to rest and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Itinerary Overview: Day 2 – Venice – The Splendor of Carnival

Our day will begin with a tasty breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a scenic journey to the mesmerizing city of Venice. Upon arrival, we will immerse into the heart of Venice with a guided walking tour, exploring iconic landmarks such as St. Mark’s Square and the famous Rialto Bridge. Afterward, we will have some free time for lunch, allowing us the opportunity to savor the city’s culinary delights. In the afternoon, we are straight into the vibrant atmosphere of the Venice Carnival, admiring the stunningly decorated boats during the Cortei Acquei (water parades), marveling at the grandeur of Carri Allegorici (allegorical floats), and enjoying lively street performances and historical reenactments celebrating 300 years of Giacomo Casanova.

As the festivities come to a close, we will head back to the hotel for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, cherishing the magical experiences of the day.

Itinerary Overview: Day 3 – Verona – Bacanal del Gnoco Festival

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel we will head for Verona, known for its ancient roman ruins, Adige River and the setting for Shakespeare’s famous play ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Here you will enjoy a guided tour into the city’s rich history and its most iconic landmarks, including Juliet’s Balcony, the lively Piazza delle Erbe, and the ancient Verona Arena. After some free time for lunch, we will join the vibrant festivities of the 495th Bacanal del Gnoco, celebrating the beloved Papà del Gnoco. The festival highlights will include a colorful procession, lively parades and music in San Zeno, and the chance to savor traditional gnocchi dishes. We will have some free time to soak in the festive atmosphere before heading back to Treviso for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Itinerary Overview: Day 4 – Bologna Exploration and Departure

We begin our final day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out. Afterward, we will depart for the city of Bologna, where a guided walking tour awaits us. Known for its rich history and vibrant culture, Bologna offers a blend of iconic landmarks that we will explore together. Taking a stroll through the medieval heart of the city, visiting Piazza Maggiore, home to the grand Basilica di San Petronio, and admire the iconic Due Torri (Two Towers), symbols of Bologna’s medieval past. As we wander through the city’s picturesque streets, we will also experience the lively atmosphere of the Quadrilatero, the historic market area renowned for its traditional cuisine.

After the walking tour you will have some free time to explore, shop, or enjoy a leisurely meal at one of Bologna’s famous trattorias. Early evening, we will slowly make our way to Bologna Airport for our 22:25 flight back to Malta, bringing a memorable journey to a close.
