Day 1 – Arrival in Krakow and Wieliczka Salt Mines
Our memorable journey begins at Malta International Airport, to meet our tour leader bright and early at 7:00 AM for our onward flight to Krakow estimated to depart at 9:00 AM. Upon arrival, a comfortable coach will be at our disposal for the entire adventure, ensuring smooth transportation along the way!
Our first stop is one of Poland’s most remarkable treasures, the Wieliczka Salt Mines. The salt mines are recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, the mines are a stunning tribute to human ingenuity and artistry. As we descend deep underground, you will be captivated by breathtaking salt sculptures, intricate carvings, and awe-inspiring chapels all meticulously crafted by miners over centuries. This underground wonder, among the oldest salt mines in Europe, is a maze of history and beauty that will leave you amazed.
After this unforgettable experience, we will proceed to our hotel to check in time to unwind and reflect on the day’s events. Krakow’s vibrant hub, with its variety of shops, restaurants, and bars, offers the perfect setting to relax, enjoy some retail therapy, or soak up the lively atmosphere of the city.
Day 2 – A day exploring historic Krakow
Today be prepared to be captivated by the charm and history of Krakow as we embark on an enlightening guided walk through this enchanting city. With our tour leader, we will uncover Krakow’s most iconic treasures, starting with the awe-inspiring Wawel Castle a former residence of Polish kings paired with a visit to the majestic Cathedral, where history and grandeur intertwine. Step into the Bishop’s Palace, home to the revered ‘Royal Tombs’ and the famous ‘Sigmund’s Bell,’ each carrying tales of Poland’s glorious past. From the castle square, you will enjoy the picture-perfect views of the Vistula River and the surrounding landscape, a moment sure to leave you in awe.
Strolling along the charming and lively Grodzka Street, brimming with vibrant shops and local flavor, we arrive at Krakow’s grand main square a true feast for the senses. Here, marvel at the Gothic splendor of the Cloth Hall, an architectural masterpiece and bustling hub for souvenir shopping, and admire the breathtaking beauty of St. Mary’s Church, with its stunning spires and rich history.
Our day continues with a serene excursion to Lagiewniki Hill, a place of profound spiritual significance and natural beauty. This exquisite architectural wonders include the sanctuary built and consecrated by His Holiness Pope John Paul II. One can visit the chapel and venerate the sacred relics of Sister Faustina, including the original and deeply moving painting of the Divine Mercy. This experience offers a perfect blend of faith, inspiration, and tranquility.
After this enriching and unforgettable day, we will return to the comfort of our hotel, where you can relax and recharge for the days ahead.
Day 3 – A Day in the Footsteps of Pope John Paul II and the Easter Spirit
Today, after a delightful breakfast, we embark on a journey to the charming town of Wadowice, famously known as the birthplace of the late Pope John Paul II. Karol Wojtyła, the late beloved pope, was born on May 18, 1920 at No. 7 Koscielna Street and where he spent his childhood until he moved out from his family home in 1938 to pursue his studies at the University of Krakow.
We will visit his humble home, today transformed into a fascinating museum, offering a glimpse into the life of one of the most beloved and influential figures of the 20th century. As we walk through the rooms filled with original items that once belonged to Pope John Paul II, you will certainly feel the presence of history and faith all around.
After this enriching experience, we will return to the hotel. Next on the agenda today is Grodzka Street, where the lively Easter Market awaits us. During this time of year, the square comes alive with the spirit of the season, offering an array of handmade Easter decorations, colourful eggs, intricately painted, and woven baskets. The market also boasts delicious local delicacies, traditional treats, and an assortment of unique souvenirs that capture the essence of Polish craftsmanship and Easter traditions.
Make sure that you wander through the bustling stalls, there will be time for us to soak up the festive atmosphere, sample local foods, and perhaps find the perfect keepsake to take home. A perfect way to end this day of discovery and celebration.
Day 4 – Auschwitz and Zakopane Adventure
After enjoying breakfast, we bid farewell to the captivating city of Krakow and embark on an exciting journey to the picturesque mountain haven of Zakopane. Enroute we will visit one of the world’s most significant historical sites, Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps. The tour of Auschwitz is led by a local tourist guide, we will delve into this sombre chapter of history, walking through the grounds where thousands of innocent men, women, and children suffered under the cruel grip of the Nazi occupation. Visiting the barracks, crematorium, and gas chambers, bearing witness to the powerful reminders of human resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy. The stories shared during this poignant experience will stay with you providing a sobering lesson and a moment for reflection, particularly as we conclude our visit at Birkenau.
Following this deeply moving visit, we continue our journey to the idyllic town of Zakopane, nestled in the heart of the stunning Tatra Mountains. Upon arrival, we will check into our cozy hotel, giving you time to relax. The crisp mountain air and peaceful ambiance of Zakopane will be the perfect setting to end our day preparing you for the exciting adventures that await in this enchanting alpine retreat.
Day 5 – Morskie Oko and Krupówki Street
Today, after a hearty breakfast, we set out to discover one of nature’s most breathtaking masterpieces, Morskie Oko. Nestled in the heart of the Tatra National Park, this adventure promises a seamless blend of serene landscapes and unforgettable experiences. Our scenic drive winds through picturesque roads lined with towering, verdant trees, offering a prelude to the magic that awaits.
To elevate the charm, we will embark on a delightful horse-and-carriage ride through tranquil forest trails, immersing ourselves in the crisp alpine air. Upon arrival, as we approach Morskie Oko on foot, the mesmerizing view reveals an emerald-green jewel cradled high in the Tatra Mountains at an impressive altitude of 1,395 meters above sea level. This glacial lake, aptly named “The Eye of the Sea,” is renowned as one of Europe’s most stunning mountain lakes, enchanting visitors with its crystalline waters reflecting the rugged peaks that embrace it.
We will take ample time to soak in the ethereal beauty, capturing memories against a backdrop of unparalleled splendour. Whether you choose to stroll along the lake’s edge or simply revel in its tranquility, the experience is sure to leave you spellbound. As the excursion draws to a close, our horse and carriage will gently take us back through the enchanting scenery, leading us to the next chapter of our journey.
We will head back and finish the day with a stroll toward the lively and bustling Krupówki Street. This avenue buzzes with energy and from here we will make our way to the funivia station and weather permitting embark on an exhilarating ride up Gubałówka Mountain (this ride is optional). On ascent one can admire the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Gubałówka Mountain. At the summit you will find much more than the ‘top of a mountain’ but a bustling village full of colourful stalls and unique handicrafts. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the views of Zakopane from here are simply unforgettable.
After soaking in the charm of this elevated village, we head back down to Krupówki Street with the cable car. You will be given some free time to explore, shop, and enjoy the local crafts before we regroup for a pleasant walk back to our cozy hotel.

Day 6 – Bachledova Tree Top Adventure and Departure
Today we check out of the hotel after having breakfast and prepare for the last leg of our journey. Our adventure today takes us across to Slovakian territory, Poland’s charming neighbour country!
Our destination is the stunning Bachledova Valley, a hidden gem brimming with natural beauty and tranquility. We will visit the majestic Spisska Mountain and you have the opportunity to ascend via a cable car ride (note that this ride is optional and weather permitting). This is an exhilarating experience as you take in wonderful views of the surrounding landscape, gliding upward towards the sky.
At the summit, we will discover the remarkable ‘Tree Top Walk’, a marvel of both nature and engineering. This unique pathway takes you through the treetops, offering an immersive experience among the forest’s enchanting oak trees. The serenity of nature envelops you as you walk, and at the end of the path, an awe-inspiring sight awaits us, the Observation Tower. This architectural masterpiece provides a stunning vantage point, and for those who venture to the top, you will be rewarded with 360-degree views that stretch across the horizon, a perfect spot to capture the essence of this magical location.
Take your time to savour the tranquil beauty of the surroundings, whether you’re gazing over the endless sea of green forest canopy or breathing in the fresh, crisp mountain air. Once everyone has fully enjoyed their time on the mountain, we will take our time to descend by cable car and
reunite at our coach, carrying with us memories of a day filled with exploration and wonder.
As the day draws to a close, we will make our way to Krakow Airport for check-in, as we prepare for our flight, which is scheduled to depart at 18:15hrs. This adventure may be coming to an end, but the memories we’ve created will last a lifetime.
