Itinerary Overview: Day 1 – Arrival in Villingen-Schwenningen

We will meet our tour leader at Malta International Airport at 12:15hrs for our 14:25hrs flight to Zurich with KM Malta Air. Upon arrival in Zurich, we will proceed to the village of Villingen-Schwenningen where our hotel is located. We will proceed with check-in processes and enjoy a peaceful night in this charming German town.

Itinerary Overview: Day 2 – Alsace Christmas Villages Experience

The day begins with a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, allowing guests to ease into the festive spirit of the Alsace region. After breakfast, the journey continues into the heart of one of France’s most enchanting areas, renowned for its storybook villages and magical Christmas markets.
The first stop is the charming village of Kaysersberg, a beautifully preserved medieval town nestled along the Weiss River. Surrounded by vineyards and overlooked by the ruins of a hilltop castle, Kaysersberg offers an authentic and intimate Christmas market experience. Guests will have time to stroll through narrow cobbled streets lined with traditional half-timbered houses and browse artisan stalls featuring handmade crafts. The market here is known for its local character and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal introduction to Alsatian Christmas traditions.
The programme continues to Riquewihr, often regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Perfectly preserved, Riquewihr feels like stepping back in time, with its colorful facades, fortified walls, and winding streets. During the Christmas season, the village transforms into a vibrant festive scene, with elaborately decorated buildings and lively market stalls.
The final stop of the day is the picturesque town of Colmar, the highlight of the Alsace Christmas experience. Colmar hosts several Christmas markets spread across its historic old town, each offering a unique theme and atmosphere. Visitors will have the opportunity to wander through beautifully decorated squares, discover local crafts and culinary delights, and admire the town’s famous canals in the “Petite Venise” district. As evening approaches, Colmar becomes even more magical, with its illuminations creating a truly unforgettable festive setting.
After ample time to explore and soak in the Christmas spirit, the group will return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay, bringing the day to a close after a memorable journey through the fairy-tale villages of Alsace.

Itinerary Overview: Day 3 – Black Forest & Christmas Magic Experience

The day begins with breakfast at the hotel, offering a relaxed start before setting out to explore the enchanting landscapes and festive traditions of southwestern Germany.
The journey continues to the vibrant city of Freiburg im Breisgau, widely regarded as the gateway to the Black Forest. You will have time to explore the picturesque streets, admire the impressive Freiburg Minster, and stroll along the city’s unique Bächle—small water channels that run through the old town. During the Christmas season, Freiburg hosts a traditional market set against the backdrop of historic buildings, where visitors can browse handcrafted goods, enjoy seasonal treats, and experience the festive ambiance of this cultural hub.
The programme then continues into the heart of the Black Forest to visit the magical Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market. Set beneath the towering arches of a historic railway viaduct, this market is one of the most unique and atmospheric in the region. Surrounded by forested hills and illuminated by soft lights, the setting creates a truly unforgettable winter experience. Guests can wander through wooden stalls offering local crafts, regional delicacies, and warming drinks, all while enjoying the dramatic natural scenery that makes this market so distinctive.
Following this immersive experience, the group will return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay, concluding another day filled with culture, scenery, and seasonal charm.

Itinerary Overview: Day 4 – Alsace Heritage & Strasbourg Christmas Experience

The day begins with breakfast at the hotel, providing a comfortable and relaxed start before continuing the journey through the enchanting Alsace region.
The first visit of the day is to the charming town of Obernai, a hidden gem along the Alsace Wine Route. During the Christmas season, the town hosts a delightful and authentic market focused on local gastronomy and regional traditions. Guests can stroll through its decorated streets, discover Alsatian culinary specialties, and enjoy the warm, intimate atmosphere that makes Obernai a more relaxed alternative to larger destinations.
The programme then continues to Strasbourg, widely known as the “Capital of Christmas.” Home to one of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in Europe, Strasbourg offers a truly spectacular festive experience. The historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, transforms into a magical setting filled with twinkling lights, richly decorated squares, and an impressive Christmas tree at Place Kléber.
You will have ample time to explore the various Christmas markets spread throughout the city, each offering a unique theme—from traditional crafts to regional delicacies. Highlights include the magnificent Strasbourg Cathedral, the charming La Petite France district with its canals and half-timbered houses, and the lively market atmosphere that fills the streets during the festive season.
After a full day of exploration and festive experiences, the group will return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay, concluding the day in comfort.

Itinerary Overview: Day 5 – Lake Constance & Departure

The final day begins with breakfast at the hotel, allowing for a relaxed start before concluding the journey with a scenic excursion.
Following breakfast, the programme continues to Lake Constance, one of Europe’s most beautiful and expansive lakes, shared by Germany, France, and Switzerland. Surrounded by picturesque towns and alpine landscapes, Lake Constance offers a refreshing setting to end the tour. You can enjoy a leisurely visit, taking in the serene views of the water, charming lakeside promenades, and the unique atmosphere of this cross-border destination.
After time at leisure by the lake, the journey continues to the airport for the return flight. Departure is scheduled at 17:40 hrs, bringing the trip to a close after several days of festive experiences, cultural discoveries, and unforgettable winter scenery.
